Behavioral Questions To Help You Nail Your Interview

interview questions

Interviews can be highly stressful and anxiety-inducing so a bit of practice and preparation can go a long way. While we can’t exactly predict what an interviewer might ask, here are some questions that we believe you can utilize for both situational and behavioral scenarios.

Interpersonal Skills and Communication

  • How do you usually go about explaining something technical to a non-technical person?
  • Describe a time when you had trouble communicating something to your superior, co-worker, or customer. How did you manage to get your message across?
  • When you enter a new workplace, how do you usually go about meeting, building, and maintaining relationships with your new co-workers and superiors?

Problem Solving

  • Can you give us a time when you have encountered a barrier to achieving a claims decision? What were the details, what action did you take and what was the outcome?
  • We are not always satisfied with the way we have handled an assessment. Tell me about a time when you were not pleased with how you handled a particular case. What did you do? What was the result? Explain the customer impact.

Planning, Organisation, and Time Management

  • Provide an effective method you have used to ensure that claims are valid and that settlements are made according to company procedures.
  • How do you plan your work when you have multiple conflicting tasks?
  • Would you describe yourself as an organized person? Provide situations that highlight your organizational skills.

Adaptability

  • What changes have you experienced in your current position, which have you embraced and why?
  • Tell me about a time you had to learn a new task at work. What did you do to speed up the learning process?
  • Describe a time when you had to adjust to a coworker’s working style to complete a project or achieve your goals. How did you approach the situation?

Initiative and Motivation

  • Tell me about a time when you went above and beyond the call of duty to get the job done.
  • What techniques have you learned or discovered that made your job significantly easier, or made you more productive?

Teamwork

  • Tell me about your most challenging teamwork experience. How did that make you a better team player moving forward?
  • Tell me about a time when you’ve gone out of your way to help a colleague or teammate. What was the situation and how did you approach it? What was the outcome?
